Asus Joins Skype Fad With AiGuru S1 Wireless Phone

It cannot be denied that Skype is one very popular VoIP service. Many companies are joining in the bandwagon and are also offering various products made just for Skype. Asus is surely one of these companies and it has also sent out its Skype compatible cordless phone – the AiGuru S1.

The AiGuru S1 is a handset and it can be used for Skype through an 802.11 b/g WiFi connection. As long as it is plugged to your computer, it can then be easily used for anything and everything that falls under Skype – it can range from taking that new Skype call, making that call to your Skype friend, and checking who among your Skype contacts are online.

You need to plug the AiGuru S1 device to your computer, however, there is a need for you to know the basic instructions of the whole setting up process of this phone like plugging in lots of cables and wires to get it to work. However, you would be needing to have some kind of knowledge when it comes to making this cordless Skype phone to work. There is a need for you to install a customized software into your computer. And along with that, you will be needing a little dongle. This dongle would be used to connect the phone to your computer’s USB port. This little dongle would serve as the transmitter of the WiFi signal to the AiGuru S1 Skype phone.
It is sold for $130, but you do get a little additional feature – you can listen to streaming music from your Windows Media Player. Not very useful but it could provide you additional entertainment if you do not have any Skype calls coming in.
